Our School

From the Headmaster

North Broward Preparatory School is committed to educational excellence, as expressed through our Credo:

Academics… First and Foremost, Immeasurably Enriched by the Fine Arts, and Complemented by Athletics and Activities.

We respond to each child’s unique style of learning with our academically challenging program. We develop enthusiastic, life-long learners who value themselves and others.

An exceptional faculty, engaging students in small classes. Students develop and practice key academic and life skills, including critical thinking, problem solving, and ethical decision-making. From the Personal Learning Plans developed for Lower School students to the rigor of the external assessments of Advanced Placement courses and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, students are challenged to excel. Our broad-based academic curriculum is built upon a strong foundation of character education and leadership training.

In addition to day students, North Broward has a robust international residential community. These Upper School students come to us from countries around the world. They are fully integrated into the fabric of school life. Our diverse student body gives each child the opportunity to learn, play, grow, and compete in a microcosm of the global society in which we live.

What’s more, our Lighthouse Point Academy (LPA) offers specialized classes for college-bound students with mild specific learning disabilities. In combination with mainstream classes, LPA classes provide prescriptive accommodations to ensure our students’ academic success and readiness for college.

North Broward students acquit themselves with distinction from the classroom, to the performance stage and the fields and courts of athletic competition, to the arenas of state, regional, and national scholastic and performing arts competitions.
