There are over 20 High School clubs.
Book Club is a forum for students interested in discussing books in an intelligent but lively and informal context. Members generate recommended lists of books not studied anywhere in that school year’s curriculum and then vote on the ones to be discussed at meeting.
Chess Club is for students interested in the game of chess. Meeting times include learning about the intricacies of the game, including special skills and tricks, and just having fun!
Chinese Language and Culture Club allows students to explore Chinese culture outside of the classroom. During meetings, the group not only practices the Chinese language but discuss current events in China. Club members also sample Chinese cuisine during meetings.
Computer Building Club is for students with a love of computers, as well as helping the community. This club teaches students how to build computers, install software, and teach others, as well. Members will have a chance to go to a place in need of computers, donate a few computers, and teach the people there how to use them.
Creative Writing Club is a forum for students interested in literature and the craft and process of creative writing. The club provides a community of young writers and writing enthusiasts with opportunities to share their work in a supportive workshop environment, improve their writing skills, attend readings, enter contest and submit their writing for publication, as well as work on the production of a literary journal.
Debate Club allows students the chance to sharpen their speech and debate skills, show off their talent, and compete against other students within the club, as well as other schools.
French Club is for enjoyment of the French language and culture and to improve your skills too!
French Honor Society (Societe Honoraire de Francais) gives students who are passionate about French the opportunity to explore more deeply the culture, language and history as well as improve the community awareness of all things French.
The Gay Straight Alliance is dedicated to discussing issues related to the LGBT community, fighting homophobia in the classrooms, and making school a comfortable, safe place for all. Everything discussed within GSA is 100% confidential, and it strives to be an open place for every student.
Hope Through Literature aims to spread an appreciation for literary exploration through philanthropic ventures in and beyond the North Broward community. We will provide access to and promote interest in literature as a vehicle for personal growth, educational advancement, and inspiration. Members will have the opportunity to create their own service projects or participate in book drives, mentoring and tutoring sessions, and visits to local after school programs including those focused on the therapeutic power of literature.
Journalism Club is for students interested in writing for the magazine, designing the magazine, and working on your journalism skills.
Key Club is a chapter of a national service organization (Key Club International) of over ¼ million high school members involved in school and community service projects. Members work on group, year-long projects and individual short-term service opportunities established by the club. This is a good way to help the community and work with fellow students without having to create your own projects.
Model United Nations is a club that allows students to experience firsthand the process that goes on in the United Nations. Each student represents a different country and chooses a topic of discussion, writes a paper about the topic, and then debates about it with students from different places.
Mu Alpha Theta Math Team gives members the chance to sharpen their math skills, show off their talent, and compete against other students in our school, as well as other schools.
Multicultural Club celebrates the cultural diversity of our students and seeks ways in which to share these stories, histories and ideas. Promoting cultural awareness and understanding, this club hopes to better unite and integrate the school through educational and fun activities.
National Art Honor Society is a chapter of a nationally recognized organization that focuses on artistic scholarship as well as service and character development. Students work together in fellowship to promote art in the community.
National Honor Society is a nationally recognized group of students who exemplify service, character, leadership, and scholarship. Students are invited to join our school’s chapter of this prestigious national society of scholars. Members work to promote the four virtues of NHS through service projects and academic excellence.
Operation Smile is affiliated with an international non-profit organization dedicated to carrying out surgeries for children with cleft lips, cleft palates, and other facial deformities in underdeveloped countries around the world. Students involved with this club have the opportunity to raise money and awareness for this worthy cause, as well as attend summer leadership conferences and mission training workshops, with the possibility of becoming a volunteer on one of Operation Smile’s many medical missions around the world even as a high school student.
Philosophy Club develops critical thinking skills and opens the minds of students through exposure to philosophical theories and debate of contemporary philosophical issues as well as the historical context that is imbedded in these discussions.
Photo Club gives students the opportunity to learn and practice the art of photography, from both participating in regular meetings to photographing school events.
Ronald McDonald House Charities fundraises and supports the mission of RMHC to improve the health and well being of children by providing a “home away from home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized children.
SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is a national organization whose goal is to promote awareness of good decisions concerning alcohol, drugs, driving, and other issues. SADD sponsors Red Ribbon Week and safe, fun social events.
Spanish Club is for enjoyment of the Spanish language and culture and improves your skills too!
Spanish Honor Society gives students who are passionate about Spanish the opportunity to explore more deeply the culture, language and history as well as improve the community awareness of all things Spanish.
A Spring of Hope searches for rural, underprivileged schools Africa in desperate need of water and build wells there. This club raises money for building wells throughout the continent as well as awareness.
Thespian Society enables students to continue their study and practice of the finer points of theater and the varied facets of dramatic presentations in a nurturing environment.
